NUS Trip

In my first year and second year in UTM, I was a committee member in Institution of Engineers, Malaysia.(IEM) In IEM, I was in the organising committee for many events, such as IEM Engineering Night, IEM Sports Carnival, and so on. Here I would to like to share on the one of the activities I did in IEM, which is joining the bonding trip to NUS, Singapore. The purpose of having this trip was to strengthen the bond among IEM-UTM committees, as well as the bonds between IEM-UTM and IES-NUS.
On the day of the trip, we gathered in KTDI early in the morning, and departed for Singpore using UTM bus. After two hours journey, we reached a backpacker hostel, where we stayed for 3 nights during the trip. After settling down, we met the members of IES-NUS as planned, and we were brought to the Singapore Airshow, which was a hot event in Singapore when we had our visit. There were lots airplanes and jets in the show, and there were flying demonstration done during the show. We even had the chance to take photos together with the pilots!!!
After the show, we were brought to NUS, where we had a tour around the campus. To my surprise, there was a Subway stall in NUS! And NUS had their own museum, where they kept the arts and valuable monuments. After the tour, we were surprised to find that we had a pizza party prepared by the NUS committee members. We had pizzas as our dinner, while having ice breaking sessions with the committees of IES-NUS. They were friendly to us, and we talked like old friends within a short time. We shared our university life, our stories, and the fun activities we did before. I found that some of the IES committees were actually international students, but their English was good enough compared to mine. Looks like I have to improve more on the English. After the dinner, we had the games section together, before we ended the meeting.
Next morning, we had our breakfast together with the IES members, before we had a visit to Sentosa Resort, which is a famous place is Singapore. We had the walk in every stations in the resort, enjoying the scenes and beauty of the nature. There were a lot of foreign tourists enjoying themselves on the beach, or have fun in the Universal Studio, which is a famous theme park in the resort. In the afternoon, we had our lunch, before we leave the resort. We went back to the hostel, packed our things, before we headed back to UTM.
In this trip, I saw a lot a differences between the culture in NUS and UTM, and the time we spent together with our new friends  was unforgettable. It was sad to reach the end of the trip, but we know that we’ll meet with the friends we met in NUS one day in the future for sure!
