I chose to take my Form 6 study in SMK Green Road (also know as Green Road Secondary School,GRSS), and the experience of living without the company of parents helped me a lot in my study in UTM. I was lucky to have a lot of caring friends with me, and we tried out a lot of new activities in the 1.5 years, like joining choir as a bass, representing my school to a camp in KL, and meet with a lot of interesting people.
After I completed my SPM in Sri Aman, my hometown, I chose to take my Form 6 study in SMK Green Road, which is 3 hours away from my hometown. I chose to do so because SMK Green Road is famous with its good facility, as well as the reputations of the experienced teachers there. And, my friend Connie also suggested that I take the Form 6 study there, which she helped a lot in my Form 6 life.
When studying Form 6 in GRSS, 2 friends of mine and I rent a house near to the school, and we lived together with the house owner, which is a old lady. We had to learn to be independent in our life, as our parents were not with us. Room cleaning and clothes washing were among the house chores that we had to do by ourselves. However, the house owner treated us as her grandchild and took good care of us. In fact, I later found out that she is actually grandmother of a friend I made in National Service.Amazing, huh?
I was also lucky as I had a lot of helpful friends in GRSS. The study environment in GRSS was also excellent, the teachers were helpful as well. As I did not have computers with me at that time, I used most of the time studying and joining school activities, including Mandarin Society, Table Tennis Club, and PBSM. The experience of joining these societies was precious in my life, as I learnt a lot on organizing events, as well as communicating with others.
During my form 6 life, I was also chosen to represent GRSS in joining the training camp of IPHO(which stand for International Physical Olympiad competition)in Kuala Lumpur. In that camp, I made friends with a lot of talented students from different states in Malaysia. The camp really opened my eyes, as I learnt a lot of modern physics, which is beyond the scope of Physics subject in Form 6. And it was an exciting experience to me, as it was the first time I went to Kuala Lumpur!haha!
In conclusion, I am glad that I make the right decision--taking my Form 6 study in GRSS!Thanks a lot to my friends and teachers!
